One of the most celebrated cinematographers in film history, Sir Roger Deakins has won two Academy Awards from 16 nominations, and is best known for Fargo, The Shawshank Redemption, Skyfall, and many more. The only cinematographer to earn the honor of knighthood by the British Crown in recognition of his contributions to film, Sir Roger has won two Oscars for Best Cinematography for Blade Runner 2049 and 1917. Sir Roger has also been nominated for 11 BAFTA Film Awards, winning five times for Best Cinematography for The Man Who Wasn’t There, No Country for Old Men, True Grit, Blade Runner 2049 and 1917. “Sir Roger’s films have been seen and enjoyed by a wide audience of countless millions throughout the world,” Michael Frey of FAS44 says. “I’m proud that this exhibition gives people an opportunity to view a different, more personal side of one of the greatest artists of our time.”
